Vinland Music Camp and Killdevil Fair

The Soundbone Traditional Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the musical, dance and storytelling traditions of Newfoundland and Labrador. Every year it runs the Vinland Music Camp at Killdevil in Lomond, Gros Morne National Park. The program consists of daily classes and workshops in a wide variety of instruments as well instruction in dance, singing and storytelling. Over the past decade the Camp has become established as one of the most respected cultural organizations in the Gros Morne area. Their teaching staff include some of the province’s top performers and instructors.
In 2021 the camp will be virtual as it was last year. The sessions will be delivered over four weeks from August 1 – 29. The camp will include online workshops, concerts and sing-alongs offered via the Zoom platform. Participants will received a Vinland Music Camp Songbook before the camp begins as well as links to online videos of songs, tutorials, tunes and techniques.
